LAKELAND, Fla. -- The No. 12 Bellevue University baseball team lost in a slugfest, 16-6, at Southeastern University in non-conference action on Monday evening.

The loss snaps a four-game win streak for the Bruins (11-3) while the Fire (15-11) picked up just their third win in their last nine outings.

Mike D'Acunti hit a pair of home runs and drove in three to lead the Southeastern offense which pounded out 18 hits on the evening. The 18 hits by Southeastern were the most allowed by the Bruins this year.

Colton Nash was the top offensive performer for the visitors, recording his fourth three-hit game of the year while driving in a run and scoring another.

Southeastern struck first, scoring a run in the second on their way to building a commanding 11-1 lead through four innings.

Bellevue looked as if they might make a game of it, scoring five times in a two-run fifth that saw Trevor Jones (1-5, RBI, run) record an RBI-run double, Ross Feeley bring home a run on a sac fly, Nash deliver and RBI-single, and a pair of runs come in via errors. That cut the lead to 11-6 but Southeastern scored the game's final five runs to pick up the win.

Zach Larrison (0-1), making his season debut, was charged with the loss for BU. Nate Harmon (1-0) picked up the win for Southeastern.

The Fire bullpen combined to throw 4.1 scoreless innings of relief issuing four hits and three walks.

Bellevue is back at it tomorrow with a 3 p.m. tilt against Warner University.
