Bruins Add Three to 2023 Cross Country Roster

The Bellevue University cross country teams, under the direction of head coach Craig Christians, added three new members to the team for the fall 2023 cross country season. New to the team this spring are Alicia Rivera Camargo and Hillary Kipngetich, and they have joined the Bruin outdoor track squad. Recently signed to the team for the fall of 2023 is Robbie Siford of Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln High School.

Alicia Rivera Camargo joins the team as a freshman from Bogota, Colombia. She enters BU with an excellent personal best of 5:10 in the 1500-meter run on the track. While she lacks cross country experience, Christians has seen enough already this Spring to know that she'll make an immediate impact for the Bruins. "Alicia has run at a high level since she was 13 or 14 and is an extremely intelligent runner. They don't run much cross country in Colombia but she's familiar with road racing and the track, and that will translate to success here. I'm excited for what she brings both to practice and meets."

Hillary Kipngetich comes to the Bruins from Eldoret, Kenya. Christians: "Hillary is so grateful and excited for the opportunity to come to Bellevue. Raised as an orphan, his story is one of perseverance, and that's a trait that will serve him in both his academic and athletic pursuits. He possesses all the tools to be successful in both."

Robbie Siford is currently in his final track season at Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and will join the Bruins next fall. Christians: "I met Robbie at a winter road race, so that tells me a lot about his character. He loves to run and is going to be a guy who will not be afraid to put in the work. He's excited for the chance and is already running personal bests at AL early in this track season."
