Galas claims fifth-straight weekly conference accolade

MADISON, S.D. -- For the fifth-consecutive week, senior Olivia Galas has been named the North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week for her performances in the Bruins' two sweeps last week at Dakota State and at home versus McPherson. It marked the 29th time in her BU career that she has won the weekly honor.  

Galas averaged 10.33 assists and 4.33 digs per set in the two victories. She also added 12 kills (on .550 hitting), along with seven total blocks and a pair of service aces. 

In the conference opener at DSU, Galas produced 32 assists, 18 digs, five kills, and two blocks. 

In the home sweep over McPherson, she registered seven kills on 11 errorless swings, along with 30 assists, eight digs, five blocks, and two service aces. 

Galas has recorded a team-high nine double-doubles on the season, including a triple-double against Cornerstone. 

She currently ranks sixth nationally with 588 assists and eighth with 10.69 assists per game.  

The Bruins will return to conference play on Friday, Sept. 23, when they entertain Mayville State University at 2 p.m. in the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center.
