Galas honored again with conference Setter of the Week honors

MADISON, S.D. -- For the second-straight week and the 26th time in her BU career, senior setter Olivia Galas has been honored as the North Star Athletic Association Setter of the Week for her efforts in the Bruins' two matches at the Hampton Inn Columbia College Classic. 

Galas guided BU to a 1-1 record in the tournament as the Bruins fell in a marathon five-set thriller to No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan before rebounding with a 3-0 sweep over (RV) Evangel. In the loss to IWU, the Bruins set a school record for the longest fifth set in school history with a 25-23 setback in the deciding set. 

Galas recorded a pair of double-doubles in the two matches. She amassed 50 assists, 12 digs, three kills, and three service aces in the loss to IWU. She followed that up with 28 assists, 10 digs, seven kills, and two blocks in the sweep over Evangel.  

The Bruins host the 24-team GoSarpy.com Labor Day Classic this Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 1-3, at the Lied Activity Center in Bellevue. 

Bellevue will take on 15th-ranked Dakota Wesleyan on Thursday at 7 p.m. BU will battle 14-ranked Central Methodist at 7 p.m. Friday. Saturday's matchups will feature Columbia International at 3 p.m. at Westmont at 7 p.m. Both of those teams are receiving votes in the latest NAIA top 25 poll.
