Hawaii's Kimoto-Montgomery signs with BU volleyball

The Bruin volleyball team has added its fifth signee to the 2021 recruiting class with the addition of 5-3 L/DS Raeanne Kimoto-Montgomery (Honolulu, Hawaii/Roosevelt HS). Kimoto-Montgomery will continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue University beginning this fall.

Kimoto-Montgomery, the daughter of Lianne Kimoto, played high school volleyball for coach Puna Velasco at Roosevelt High School. Her team was not able to compete during her senior season due to the Covid pandemic.

She also participated in basketball and track during her high school career.

Kimoto-Montgomery played club volleyball for Lanikai Athletics Club under coach Edwin Chun, where she helped lead her team to a gold medal in the 2019 State Tournament.

She was named to her school's Honor Roll during her senior year of high school.

"Raeanne is a late addition to our team," said Siedlik. "She has talent and potential that has been untapped and a work ethic that is open minded to learn!"

Kimoto-Montgomery joins earlier signees Haley Fleischman (6-0, MB/RS, Overton, Neb., Overton HS), Taylor Kudym (5-10, MB, Eagle, Neb./Waverly HS), Sidney Sledge (5-10, S/RS, Omaha, Neb./Marian HS), and Maya Morales (5-6, L/DS, West Liberty, Iowa/Iowa City HS) in the 2021 recruiting class.

Bellevue finished the 2020 season with a 17-7 overall record, making its 13th appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. The Bruins won the program's first-ever NSAA regular-season title with a 12-2 league record. BU finished second in the NSAA Tournament earning an at-large berth to the NAIA National Tournament. The Bruins defeated Texas Wesleyan to earn a trip to the NAIA National Championship final site in Sioux City, Iowa.
