Siedlik signs sixth 2019 recruit, Kloe Ruth

Bruin head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of 5-11 middle blocker Kloe Ruth (Rising City, Neb./David City Aquinas HS) to a letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic careers at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2019.

The daughter of Randy and Theresa Ruth, Kloe was a four-year letterwinner under head coach Jody Pelan at David City Aquinas High School. Ruth was an honorable mention all-state and all-conference performer while being named to the all-tournament team in the Centennial Conference Tournament as well as the David City High School Tournament.

Ruth lettered three years in basketball at DCAHS and was a two-time Nebraska state track and field qualifier in the discus.

"Kloe was recommended to us by Coach Scott Mattera over the summer," said Siedlik. "She came to our camp and we knew that she was going to be coming off of her ACL rehab. What we love the most is how hard she worked and how athletic she was still coming off of that surgery. Her attitude and wonderful personality along with her high academic standards are qualities we want in our program. Anyone can play for any school, but it's the coachable attitude blended in with our type of training that is essential to fitting into our culture. Kloe fits that bill."

An excellent student, Ruth was an academic all-state selection and was on the school's Honor Roll every quarter of her high school career. She was also a member of the National Honor Society as well as the President of the Student Council. Ruth received the Angelic Doctor Award in 2017-18 given to the student with the second highest GPA.

Ruth joins five earlier signees: setter Riley Burcham (Georgetown, Texas/Gateway College Prep)  middle blocker Paige Hays (Glenwood, Iowa/Glenwood HS), outside hitter Paige Holdsworth (Omaha, Neb./Millard North HS), defensive specialist/outside hitter Jacey Klassen (Hampton, Neb./Hampton HS), and middle blocker Brooklyn Hundt (Underwood, Iowa/Tri-Center HS) in the 2019 recruiting class.

The Bruins finished the 2018 season with a 23-12 overall record, advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the third-straight season and the 11th time in school history.
