Volleyball sweeps weekly MCAC honors

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- The Bellevue University volleyball team swept the weekly MCAC honors for the week ending Oct. 28. Caitlyn Rueth was named the MCAC Hitter of the Week. Jordan Broady was tabbed MCAC Setter of the Week and Meghan Evans garnered MCAC Libero of the Week accolades. 

Rueth earned her second-straight Hitter of the Week nod after averaging 3.29 kills and 1.57 digs per game last week in helping the No. 24 Bruins to a 3-0 record. In a 3-0 sweep of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, she had 10 kills, five digs and two block assists. For the week, Rueth hit at a .347 clip.

Broady collected her 27th career Setter of the Week honor after averaging 9.86 assists, 2.14 kills and 1.14 digs per game last week in BU's three sweeps over Haskell Indian Nations, Oklahoma Wesleyan, and Southwestern Christian.  In the 3-0 win at HINU, she had 24 assists, four digs and three kills in just two games played.

Evans averaged 6.78 digs per game last week as the Bruins racked up three conference road sweeps. It was Evans second Libero of the Week honor this season. 

Bellevue owns a 29-9 overall record and a perfect 10-0 mark in conference play. The Bruins will travel to York, Neb. on Tuesday (Oct. 30) for a 7 p.m. conference match at York College.
