Broady, Rueth net weekly conference accolades

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University volleyball players Jordan Broady and Caitlyn Rueth have been awarded this week's MCAC Setter and Hitter of the Week accolades announced on Monday.

Broady, who has been named the MCAC Setter of the Week for the sixth occasion this season and 26th time in her career, notched 104 assists, 57 digs, 32 kills, 11 blocks and three service aces during the week.

In BU's 3-2 upset over 13th-ranked Grand View University (Oct. 16) she recorded her fifth triple-double registering 46 assists, 11 digs and 11 kills and versus College of the Ozarks (Oct. 19), she finished with 46 assists, 17 digs, eight kills and six assists.

The three-time all-MCAC selection currently ranks second in the NAIA with 1,312 assists.

For the second time this season, Rueth was named the conference's Hitter of the Week after posting 42 kills, 12 digs, four blocks and three service aces while hitting .308 last week. The junior also was awarded this honor on Oct. 1.

In the 3-1 win over Ozarks, Rueth pounded 16 kills to go along with three digs, two block assists and one service ace. She ranks second on the team with 328 kills this season.

The Bruins will begin a four-game conference road trip beginning with a visit to Lawrence, Kan. on Thurs., Oct. 25 to battle Haskell Indian Nations University at 7:00 p.m.
