Broady, Wardian earn conference honors
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University volleyball players Jordan Broady and Maureen Wardian have been named this week's Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's setter and hitter of the week announced by the league office on Monday, Nov. 7.

Broady averaged 11.7 assists, 2.0 kills and 1.5 digs per game last week as the 21st-ranked Bruins recorded conference sweeps over the College of Saint Mary and Haskell Indian Nations University.

The junior from Johnson, Neb., leads the conference with 1,301 assists and has been the MCAC Setter of the Week nine times this year. She has also tallied 266 digs, 83 kills and 33 service aces. Broady has also notched a team-high 10 double-doubles.

Wardian earned MCAC Hitter of the Week accolades after she averaged 4.2 kills and 1.6 blocks per game last week as BU posted a pair of conference wins.

In the Bruins' sweep at CSM, Wardian registered 16 kills and added six block assists.

For the season, Wardian ranks second on the team with 320 kills and 96 total blocks.

This is the third time the senior has earned the weekly conference honor. She was also named the MCAC Hitter of the Week on Sept. 19 and Oct. 24.

Bellevue finished the regular season with a 27-6 overall mark. The Bruins will travel to Point Lookout, Mo., on Friday for the MCAC Tournament.
