LIVONIA, Mich. -- The Bellevue University volleyball team picked up a pair of wins Saturday at the Madonna University Crusader Classic, helping Bruin head coach Trish Siedlik reach the 300-win milestone for her career.

Bellevue swept Davenport University 3-0 (25-23, 25-14, 25-18) in the opener, before surviving with a 3-2 (21-25, 26-24, 25-14, 23-25, 16-14) victory over Malone University in the final match of the tournament.

Siedlik, who is in her sixth season at Bellevue after serving four seasons at her alma mater College of St. Mary, now sports a 301-80 (.790) overall coaching record.

With the two wins, the 21st-ranked Bruins improved to 24-6 on the season. Senior middle blocker Maureen Wardian was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. Junior setter Jordan Broady was also named to the all-tournament team. 
Bellevue 3, Davenport 0
Wardian led the Bruins with 15 kills on .333 hitting while adding a pair of blocks as  BU cruised to the 25-23, 25-14, 25-18 win over Davenport. 

Annie Benson and Kali Schnacker added nine kills apiece and Sydney DeBoer finished with a match-high six blocks. 

Broady directed the BU offense to a .203 hitting percentage while recording 42 assists, four digs, and four blocks. 

Meghan Evans and Mollie Gavin collected 18 digs apiece to pace the Bruin defense which held the Panthers to a .059 hitting in the match.

Bellevue 3, Malone 2
After dropping a five-set marathon on Friday to Madonna, the Bruins pulled out a dramatic five set (21-25, 26-24, 25-14, 23-25, 16-14) victory over Malone University in the final match of the tournament.

Schnacker led the Bruins with 21 kills, nine digs, and six blocks. Benson added 16 kills on .364 hitting along with five digs. Wardian was the third Bruin in double figures with 12 kills, to go along with six blocks.

Gavin and Broady paced the BU defense with 17 digs apiece. Broady notched her 10th double-double of the season by adding 51 assists. Evans and Ashley Wurdeman were also in double figures in digs with 15 and 13, respectively.

After dropping the first game, the Bruins trailed in the second, 16-13, before responding with an 11-6 run to grab two set points at 24-22. After Malone tied the game at 24 apiece on a kill and a Bruin attack error, Schnacker ended the game on a kill and a service ace.

Bellevue used an 11-2 run midway through the third set to cruise to the 25-14 win.

The Bruins led 23-21 in the fourth, before Malone scored four-straight after a kill and three BU attack errors to force a fifth set.

Bellevue squandered three match points in the fifth set, leading 14-11, before finishing the match with a kill by Schnacker and a block by Schnacker and Wardian on Malone's Megan Fisher.

Lauren Townley (17 kills) and Fisher (12) led the Pioneer offense.

The Bruins return to action next Thursday, Oct. 27, with a 7 p.m. non-conference match at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa.
