POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Bellevue University volleyball players Sunny Bell and Jordan Broady have been named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's hitter and setter of the week announced by the league office on Monday, Sept. 6

Bell, a freshman outside hitter from Omaha Bryan High School, averaged 3.81 kills and 0.50 total blocks per game in four matches last week. In a 3-1 win over Hastings College, she hit .364 with 14 kills, three digs and two block assists. Bell also blasted a career-high 19 kills against Viterbo University on Sept. 2.

Broady averaged 44 assists and eight digs a match last week for the Bruins. She recorded double-doubles against No. 23 Lubbock Christian University and Hastings. 

Bellevue is currently ranked No. 16 and 4-4 overall this season. The Bruins will travel to Orange City, Iowa on Wednesday, Sept. 7 to battle No. 15 Northwestern (Iowa) College. First serve is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the Bultman Center.
