Clow, Muller earn AVCA All-America honors

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its women's volleyball All-America teams for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as selected by the NAIA Volleyball All-America Selection Committee has been released. On that list for Bellevue University is Candace Clow, a senior setter from DeBois, Nebraska who was selected as an AVCA-NAIA first team All-American and Rachel Muller, a junior outside hitter, making the list as an honorable mention.

This season, the Bellevue University volleyball team had one of their most successful seasons since the 'Elite-Eight' in 2000. The Bruins finished with the best winning precent in school history, a lot in part by two players that were honored on Thursday by the AVCA.

Candace Clow, a setter from DeBois, Nebraska, finished the season with 1322 set assists, an average of 10.84 per set, along with 104 kills, 23 aces and 307 digs. Clow was also named the MCAC Player of the Year, the first Bellevue player to win the award since the conference began in 1994. She was also a NAIA second team All-American which was announced last week in conjuction with the NAIA National Tournament. Miss Clow is the all-time leader in set assists at Bellevue with over 6000.
