MNU transfer Murphy signs on to join Bellevue

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University head women's soccer coach Tom White has announced the signing of Abigail Murphy (Springfield, Mo.) to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic careers at Bellevue beginning next fall.

The daughter of Timothy Murphy and Elizabeth Williamson, Abi attended Springfield Catholic High School under the guidance of Mike Hines.

Abbi played her club soccer at Pinnacle Rush where she was a state cup finalist as well as qualifying for nationals in 2022. Murphy was coached by Alf Bibao.

The last two years has seen Murphy play collegiate soccer at Mid-America Nazerene where she has played 26 games

"We are very excited that Abbi will be joining us this fall. Having two years of NAIA soccer under her belt and coming from a quality program we can't wait to see how she mixes in with the upcoming group."

Murphy joins the previously announced Giuliani Gagliolo (MF/Omaha, Neb./Millard West HS), Bethan Cowd (MF/D, Torpoint, Cornwall, England/Murray State), Aimee Steele (F/MF, Newcastle, England/Murray State), and Lily Humes (MF/D, Bournemouth, England/Murray State) in the Bruins' 2024 recruiting class.

Bellevue wrapped up the 2023 season with an overall record of 12-3-1, claiming the top seed in the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament where they reached the CAC title game for the third-straight season.
