LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University junior Morgan McIlnay (Omaha, Neb.) has been recognized by the Continental Athletic Conference as the CAC's Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
McIlnay notched a pair of assists in BU's 3-0 Senior Day triumph over Waldorf University last week while helping keep a pair of shutouts as the Bruins ran their win streak to three games. Opponents managed just 13 total shots in two games last week with just eight finding their way on goal.
Last year's CAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, this is the first time that McIlnay has earned a CAC Player of the Week Award. She now has three assists this season and has helped keep six shutouts.
Bellevue (9-2-1) travels to Tampa, Fla. for their next game on Thursday, Oct. 19 against Florida College (2-7-4). Kick-off is set for 6 p.m. for the lone CAC game of the year for the Bruins.
