Big week sees Lages earn A.I.I. Player of the Week recognition

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University junior Marilia Lages (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) has been recognized as the Association of Independent Institutions' Women's Soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the A.I.I. office on Monday.

The selection marks the third time this season that Lages has been recognized as the A.I.I. Player of the Week, having previously received the honor on Sept. 21 and Nov. 9.

In two games for Bellevue last week, Lages scored four goals and an assist. She provided the eventual game-winner against both Williams Baptist and Sterling as Bellevue extended their winning streak to five games.

Lages currently leads the Bruins with eight goals, four assists, 20 points, and five game-winning goals. Her five game-winners are also good for second nationally, trailing only Emily Dalton of Ave Maria who has six game-winning goals.

Bellevue (9-2-0) hosts their first match of the spring on Saturday, Mar. 6 when they welcome Kansas Wesleyan University (6-2-0) to Papillion Landing for a 3 p.m. kick-off.
