OMAHA, Neb. -- St. Ambrose University scored in the 87th minute as they defeated the Bellevue University women's soccer team 1-0 Friday night in nonconference action at Tranquility Park.
St. Ambrose improved to 4-2-1 while Bellevue fell to 2-5-3 on the season.
Ashley Dexter netted the lone goal of the match on a drive past the BU defense at the 86:39 mark of the second half.
Morgan Lynn (4-2-1) earned the win in goal for the Queen Bees, registering four saves. Caitlin Stier recorded a game-high six saves in the loss.
SAU outshot BU 12-6, including a 9-3 edge in the second half.
Mercy Darkoah and Jenica Bloom led the Bruins with two shots each.
The Bruins will play host to Bethany (Kan.) College tomorrow (Sept. 28) for a 7:00 p.m. match at Tranquility Park. All proceeds from the contest will go toward cancer research.
