SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. -- The 12th-ranked Oklahoma City University women's soccer team defeated Bellevue University 2-1 Saturday afternoon at the John Brown University Invitational at Alumni Field.
Oklahoma City moved to 3-2-0 with the win while Bellevue fell to 1-3-3 overall this season.
The Stars struck first scoring 12:25 into the contest on Meghan McMahon's fifth goal of the season on a pass from Vanessa Mendoza.
BU tied the game at 1-1 in the 44th minute on Yaritza Estrada's shot from the top of the box.
OCU netted the game-winner at 63:53 on Allison Worsham's goal.
Alissa Reed earned her third win of the season in goal for the Stars and recorded two saves. Sammy Sinecio made her season debut for BU and stopped four shots.
OCU outshot the Bruins 19-9 and also held a 15-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Bruins will travel to Seward, Neb. on Wednesday, Sept. 18 for a nonconference match at Concordia (Neb.) University at 7:15 p.m.
