LAMONI, Iowa -- The 16th-ranked Graceland University women's soccer team defeated Bellevue University 3-0 Sunday evening at the John Rasmussen Soccer Complex in the Grand View Invitational.
The Bruins fall to 0-1-1 on the season while Graceland improved to 2-0-0.
The Yellowjackets scored a pair of first half goals in a span of 56 seconds to take a 2-0 lead at halftime. Stephanie D'Cruz scored in the 32nd minute before Sydney Nolan scored at 32:13. Nolan was also credited for the assist on GU's first goal.
D'Cruz scored her second goal of the match on a pass from Megan Codilla in the 84th minute of action.
Caitlin Stier stopped five shots in the loss.
Jenica Bloom led BU with four shots, including one on goal.
GU held a 19-11 edge in shots, including an 11-4 edge in the first half.
The Bruins will make their home debut on Monday, Sept. 2 when they welcome Midland University to Tranquility Park for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off.
