KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Bellevue University women's soccer goalkeeper Caitlin Stier has been named this week's NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week announced by the national office today.

Stier, a sophomore transfer from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, recorded eight saves in the Bruins' 1-0 shut out win over No. 12 Hastings College on Sept. 9.

For the season, Stier has recorded 20 saves with a 0.60 goals against average. In Bellevue's season opener at Concordia (Neb.) University she notched a season-high nine saves.

The Bruins 3-0 will travel to California weekend for the Menlo College Invitational.
