MADISON, S.D. -- For the second time this season and the fourth time in her Bruin career, junior Maria Pinedo has earned North Star Athletic Association Golfer of the Week honors for her performance at the Bronco Fall Invite earlier this week.
Pinedo tied for first place in the Bronco Fall Invite, falling on the fourth playoff hole to Iowa Western's Baylie Pike. She finished at 6-over par in the 36-hole tournament. In the final round, she carded a 1-under 35 on the front nine while producing the top round of the 56-player tournament with a second-round score of 1-over 73.
Pinedo helped the Bruins win the team title in the nine-team Bronco Fall Invite, edging out Iowa Western Community College by two strokes.
The Bruins will head to Axtell, Neb. on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 6-7, to compete in the Nebraska Intercollegiate being played at the Awarii Dunes Golf Course.
