OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Led by the solid play of freshman Maria Pinedo and junior Tylah Saifoloi, the Bellevue University women's golf team is currently in seventh place after the opening round of play at the 14-team Susie Maxwell Berning Classic.

Recap:

Host Oklahoma City University is currently in first place in the team standings at 2-over par (290). OCU's Reagan Chaney leads the 83-player field at 3-under par after firing a 69. 

Southeastern (Fla.) University is two strokes back at 4-over par (292).  

The Bruins are 20 strokes off the pace after shooting a team total of 310 on Monday.  

Maria Pinedo fired a season-low 2-over 74 and is in a tie for eighth place in the 83-player field. Pinedo had three birdies and 11 pars in Monday's first round.

Tylah Saifoloi carded a 4-over 76, putting her in a tie for 22nd place. Saifoloi had two birdies and 12 pars in her opening round. 

Freshman Ilysia Ibnu is tied for 38th place at 7-over par. Ibnu collected two birdies and nine pars in the first round. 

Senior Allison Temple is currently at 9-over par and is in a tie for 47th place. Temple's round was highlighted by an eagle on the 565-yard, par-5 first hole.

Freshman Megan Harty rounded out the day with a 12-over 84 and is currently in a tie for 54th place. She had six pars on the day. 

Who's in the field?

Ranked teams in the field include top-ranked Oklahoma City, sixth-rated Southeastern (Fla.), and No. 9 Texas Wesleyan.
