Wendy Monfort was named NSAA Women's Golfer of the Week following her first career event

BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University freshman Wendy Monfort has been named North Star Athletic Association Women's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the NSAA. Monfort led the Bruins to a second place showing at the Deer Park Classic.
Monfort was solid in her collegiate golfing debut at the Deer Park Classic in Oglesby, Ill. placing third overall in the field of 77 golfers. Monfort shot a 7-over 78 in her first official collegiate round and followed that up with a 4-over 75 the next day to finish at 11-over on a very difficult course.
Bellevue returns to the links on Monday, Sept. 28 to compete in the two-day North Star Fall Tournament which is being held in Fargo, N.D. at the Oxbow Country Club.
