SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team sits in seventh place after the third round of competition at the 27-team NAIA Women's Golf National Championships at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.
The Bruins shot a team score of 313 Thursday for a three-day total of 932 (300-319-313). Bellevue is 17 strokes off the pace of co-leaders University of the Cumberlands and Northwood (Fla.) University, who both are at 915 after 54 holes.
Renee Santoyo, Natalia Soria and Karissa Moreland all shot 6-over par 78's on the day, while Charlene Dubois fired a 7-over 79. Maria Saavedra carded an 81 on Thurday.
Dalton State's Julia McQuilken leads the 143-player tournament field with a three-round total of 1-under par (74-70-71).
Santoyo and Dubois are currently tied for 28th place while Soria sits in a tie for 32nd. Moreland is tied for 38th in the individual standings.
The tournament will conclude on Friday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
