MARYVILLE, Mo. -- The Bellevue University women's golf team, with all five golfers in the top six, owns a commanding 47 stroke lead after the first round of the 2015 Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship at Mozingo Lake Golf Course.

Renee Santoyo paced the Bruins through the first 18 holes, shooting a 5-over 77 to possess a three-stroke lead among individuals. Maria Saavedra is next among BU golfers after shooting an opening round 81.

Natalia Soria and Karissa Moreland are tied for fourth overall after shooting 83 apiece in the opening round. Charlene Dubois shot 86 to place sixth after one day of play.

Second round action continues tomorrow morning with the tournament winner earning an automatic berth in the NAIA National Championship.
