DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. - Junior Maria Saavedra (Mexico City, Mexico) shot a team-best 76 in the second round as the Bellevue University women's golf team finds themselves in third place with one round remaining at the South Dakota Coyote Classic at the Dakota Dunes Country Club. Through two rounds BU has a score of 635, 23 shots behind first place North Dakota State University and five behind Drake University.
Through two rounds Saavedra now has a total score of 155. Junior Charlene Dubois (Salbris, France) was second among BU competitors with a 7-over, 79 for a two round total of 160 which is tied with junior Renee Santoyo (Guadalupe, Mexico) who shot an 84 for the afternoon.
Juniors Karissa Moreland (North Platte, Neb.) and Natalia Soria (La Paz, Bolivia) shot 84 and 82, respectively, on the afternoon. Moreland has a two-round total of 162, three strokes ahead of Soria.
Play at the South Dakota Coyote Classic will wrap up tomorrow morning at the Dakota Dunes Country Club.
