Day One Results

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Junior Renee Santoyo (Guadalupe, Mexico) shot rounds of 74 and a team-best 69 on the day as the Bellevue University women's golf team is in first place after two rounds at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic being played at the Lincoln Park Golf Course.

Santoyo is currently second on the leaderboard with a two-round total of 143, just one shot ahead of a pair of Bruins. Juniors Natalia Soria (La Paz, Bolivia) shot 71 and 73 and Maria Saavedra (Mexico City, Mexico) shot 74 and 70 to finish the day with scores of 144. Fourth for the Bruins, and tied for 12th overall, is junior Charlene Dubois (Salbris, France) who shot 76 and 72 for a two-round total of 148. Rounding out the list of BU competitors with rounds of 76 and 75 is junior Karissa Moreland (North Platte, Neb.) whose total of 151 has her in a tie for 22nd place.

As a team BU shot 579 on the first day of competition and sit seven strokes ahead of Wayland Baptist (586). Oklahoma Christian (594) is third while Rogers State (602) and Redlands Community College (602) round out the top five.

The tournament will conclude with the final round being played tomorrow morning.
