OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Bellevue University women's golf team sits in fifth place after the first day of competition at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic on Monday at Lincoln Park Golf Course.
Host and defending national champion Oklahoma City University is in first place with a two-round total of 595. BU is in fifth place overall with a first day score of 614.
Maria Saavedra (152) is in 17th place while Karissa Moreland fired scores of 74 and 79 to tie for 18th place.
Renee Santoyo is in a tie for 23rd after recording rounds of 78 and 76 for a total score of 154 while Natalia Soria tallied scores of 76 and 79 to tie for 25th. Christina VonRiesen is tied for 46th after registering a score 83 in both rounds.
The Bruins will wrap-up the two-day tournament tomorrow (Sept. 17) beginning at 8:30 a.m.
