GREENWOOD, Ind. -- The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2023-24 women's basketball Academic All-District teams Tuesday, with a pair of Bruins among the recipients of the honor.
Student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, and III, as well as the NAIA, were recognized for this honor.
Comprising the Bellevue University selections were junior guards Ashtyn Arnold (Clovis, Calif.) and Gabby Moore (Webster Groves, Mo.).
Moore was a second team all-North Star Athletic Association honoree when the conference awards were announced at the end of the season. On the court, Moore led the team in both scoring at 13.1 points per game and assists with 87. She buried a team-leading 61 three-pointers at a 33% clip and shot 66% from the free throw line while also averaging 3.3 rebounds per game and swiping 22 steals in a team-high 36 minutes per game.
Last week, Arnold collected her second Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award. Last month she earned honorable mention all-NSAA honors for her on-court performance. She appeared and started in 27 of 28 games averaging career highs of 10.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game while leading the team in shooting 75% from the free throw line. She ranked second on the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, and field goal percentage while she finished third blocked shots.
To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a sophomore both academically and athletically. They must have competed in 90% of the institution's games/contests/sets played or must start in at least 66% of the games/contests/sets. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must have a minimum of 3.50 for both their graduate program GPA and their undergraduate GPA.
All three student-athletes will move onto the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with the announcement of those teams coming out on January 9.
