Moore, Arnold garner NSAA post-season honors

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Juniors Gabby Moore and Ashtyn Arnold were honored Monday as the 2023-24 North Star Athletic Association post-season awards were announced by the league office. 

Moore earned second-team honors and was named the NSAA Newcomer of the Year. Arnold garnered honorable mention accolades. In addition, junior Aminah Hall was Bellevue's recipient of the NAIA Champions of Character Award. 

Moore led the Bruins in scoring at 13.1 points per game. She was also the team leader in 3-point field goals made with 61 and assists with 87 (3.1 apg). Moore scored 20 or more points in three contests, including a season-high 25 points against No. 23 College of the Ozarks on Dec. 29, where she drained five 3-pointers. 

Arnold was second on the squad in scoring at 10.3 points per game. She led the Bruins with a .753 free throw percentage and was second with 6.4 rebounds per contest, 70 assists (2.6 apg), and 28 steals. 

Arnold scored a season-high 21 points in the Bruins' 80-74 win over Doane on Nov. 3. She grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds in BU's 67-63 victory over Haskell on Dec. 30. She recorded three double-doubles on the season and finished in double figures in scoring in 16 contests.  

The Bruins finished the 2023-24 season with an 11-17 overall record and a 4-8 mark in the NSAA, falling in the quarterfinals of the NSAA Tournament to Viterbo.
