Softball to host NFCA Strikeout Cancer Event with CSM

Bellevue University and the College of Saint Mary will be holding an NFCA StrikeOut Cancer event on Wednesday, March 29, when BU hosts the Flames at 6:00 p.m. in a single non-conference contest at Roy Smith Field.

Coaches and players hope to raise cancer awareness and funds in support of the local Nicki G. Foundation. The foundation was formed in honor of former Midland University softball player Nicki (Urban) Glatter, who lost her battle with cancer in 2014. Nicki's husband Ryan is currently the hitting coach for the Flames, and his stepdaughter Alyssa (Morbach) is a current member of the Bruin softball squad.

The Nicki G. Foundation raises funds to award scholarships to local high school students in their pursuit of playing collegiate softball.

The Bruins are currently 14-7 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. CSM is 3-16 and 0-2 in the GPAC.
