MADISON, S.D. -- The North Star Athletic Association announced its second edition of the softball weekly awards on Monday. Bellevue's Erin Sharpe (Bosque Farms, N.M.) was announced as NSAA Pitcher of the Week.
It's the second time that Sharpe – who has also twice previously been named NSAA Player of the Week – has been recognized as the league's Pitcher of the Week after previously winning the award on May 1, 2017.
Sharpe was great in the circle, earning a pair of wins against one loss in five appearances. She posted a 0.97 ERA and struck out 29 batters in 29 innings of work while walking just five. Additionally, she recorded a WHIP of just 0.66 for the week.
For the season Sharpe holds a 5-1 record and a 1.59 ERA. She has struck out 44 batters against just eight walks over 39.2 innings in the circle.
The Bruins are now 12-8 on the year following a successful trip to Florida last week which saw them knock off fourth-ranked Marian (Ind.). BU is scheduled to play their home-opener on Wednesday, Mar. 14 against the University of Saint Mary at 4 p.m. at the Lied Center in Bellevue.
