POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- For the second-straight week, Bellevue University junior Ashley Gigax was named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Player of the Week.
Gigax batted .545 with seven runs scored and six RBIs as Bellevue won five games. She also finished with a .727 slugging percentage and recorded a hit in every game including five multi-hit games.
In the Bruins' 5-3 victory over Concordia (Neb.) University on April 1, she went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBIs.
For the season, Gigax is batting .388 with seven doubles, one triple, two home runs and 24 RBIs.
The Bruins (21-11, 8-2 MCAC) will play host to Doane College tomorrow (April 8) with a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader at Hall of Fame Fields.
