Neumann, Wees named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that a total of 308 softball student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Softball Scholar-Athletes. Two Bruins were named to the exclusive team, including juniors Amanda Neumann and Kim Wees.

Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.

The Bruins finished the 2012 season with a 44-16 overall record and a 13-1 league mark, claiming a share of the MCAC regular season title with No. 4-ranked Central Baptist College. As a team, BU shattered the school record for home runs in a season with 70.
