POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – Bellevue University right-handed pitcher and third baseman Amanda Neumann has been named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week announced by the league office on Monday, April 25.

In the pitching circle, Neumann compiled a 3-1 record last week with two complete games, one shut out and 28 strikeouts, without allowing an earned run or walk, in 19 innings of work. At the plate, she batted .474 (9-for-19) with six runs, one double, two home runs and four RBIs.

In the Bruins’ non-conference doubleheader sweep against Midland University on April 20, she batted 2-for-6 with two runs scored, one home run and two RBIs. Neumann also earned both wins for BU, tossing a complete game in the opener before pitching 2.1 innings in relief in the nightcap. She allowed just two hits while striking out 11 batters.

At Central Christian College on April 23, she pitched a complete game one-hit shutout in game one with 13 strikeouts. She also went 4-for-7 with four runs, one home run and two RBIs in the conference doubleheader sweep.

For the season, Neumann leads the pitching staff with a 17-7 record, 3.29 ERA, 171 strikeouts and 13 complete games in 146.2 innings pitched. She also paces the Bruins with a .443 batting average, .828 slugging percentage, 54 hits and 13 home runs. Neumann ranks second on the team with 36 RBIs and a .452 on-base percentage.

Bellevue (24-15, 8-0 MCAC) will return to action tomorrow (April 26) when they host NCAA Division II Rockhurst University. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Hall of Fame Fields.
