POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – Bellevue University pitcher and third baseman Amanda Neumann has been named the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Player and Pitcher of the Week announced by the league office today.

Neumann went 10-for-15 (.667) with four home runs, eight runs, one triple and nine RBIs helping the Bruins to four conference wins. In the circle, she earned all four wins, pitching 20.1 innings with 26 strikeouts.

In the Bruins’ first MCAC contest of the season versus Peru State College on April 5, Neumann was 5-for-8 from the plate with four runs scored, six RBIs and blasted three home runs. She also pitched 11 innings in the doubleheader with 16 strikeouts, including a season-high 11 in the first game, as she notched her team-leading ninth complete game of the season.

 Against York College on April 8, the Papillion-LaVista product went 5-for-7 with four runs, three RBIs, one home run and one stolen base. She also registered 9.1 innings allowing just six hits and struck out 10 batters.

For the season, Neumann leads Bellevue with a .427 batting average, nine home runs and 26 runs scored.  She is second on the team with 26 RBIs and leads the MCAC with 117 strikeouts and 13 wins.   

This marks the third time this season Neumann has earned the weekly conference honor. Last week, she was named the MCAC Pitcher of the Week and was also named the MCAC Player of the Week on March 21.

Bellevue (17-12, 4-0 MCAC) returns to action on Wednesday, April 13 with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference doubleheader scheduled at Hastings College.
