GREENWOOD, Ind. -- The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced their 2024 men's soccer Academic All-District Teams Tuesday afternoon, and the Bruins' Edwin Cisneros (Omaha, Neb.) was among those recognized.
Student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, and III, as well as the NAIA, were recognized for this honor.
Cisneros, a sophomore Business Administration major, holds a 3.51 cumulative GPA. He was named a first team all-CAC selection this season and earned CAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors after scoring a goal in the semifinals and providing the game-winner in the Championship Match. He has totaled seven goals, including four game-winners, and three assists while creating numerous other chances with his crafty play and ability to draw fouls.
To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a sophomore both academically and athletically. They must have competed in 90% of the institution's games/contests/sets played or must start in at least 66% of the games/contests/sets. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Graduate students must have a minimum of 3.50 for both their graduate program GPA and their undergraduate GPA.
Eligible student-athletes will move onto the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with the announcement of those teams coming out on December 10th.
The Bruins are 15-2-2 on the season and claimed their fifth-straight CAC Tournament Championship last week. Bellevue is one of 16 NAIA First and Second Round hosts this week as the National Championship gets underway on campus sites across the countries. BU is the No. 8 National Seed and hosts the winner of Thursday's Williams Baptist University-Kansas Wesleyan University match on Saturday at noon at Creighton University's Morrison Stadium.
