LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University junior Edwin Cisneros (Omaha, Neb.) has been named the Continental Athletic Conference men's soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the CAC office on Monday morning.
Cisneros scored three goals last week, including game-winners at both Midland University and the University of Jamestown. He scored both goals in Wednesday's 2-1 triumph over Midland and followed up by bagging the 62nd minute game-winner in a 2-0 win at Jamestown on Saturday. Defensively, Cisneros helped the Bruins limit their opposition to just _ shots on goal on the week and post their fourth shutout of the season.
He was previously recognized by the CAC on Aug. 26 as the Defensive Player of the Week.
The Bruins are now 9-0-2 on the season and ranked No. 8 in the most recent NAIA Coaches' Poll (Sept. 25). The new poll will be released sometime this Wednesday.
Bellevue hosts #15 Columbia College (6-1-2) at Papillion Landing on Wednesday, Oct. 9 for a 4:30 p.m. kick-off.
