JAMESTOWN, N.D. -- For the second time this week, Edwin Cisneros collected a game-winner as he led the No. 8-ranked Bellevue University men's soccer team past the University of Jamestown 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Bruins continue their best start to a season since 2018, improving to 9-0-2 as they are now unbeaten (15-0-2) in their last 17 regular season games. With the loss, Jamestown falls to 3-5-3 on the year.
Bellevue controlled much of the attack through the opening 45 minutes. The Bruins piled up an 8-2 advantage in shots and a 4-0 edge in shots on goal while taking both of the corners in the first half.
Cisneros broke the deadlock shortly past the hour mark with a 62nd-minute strike, his fourth of the year off a feed from Kyi Nicholson.
With the score holding at 1-0 with under three minutes to play, Jeremiah Hteh removed all doubt, heading home a cross from Kai Yoshida to double the BU lead. The 88th-minute goal was his third of the season.
Bellevue finished with advantages of 17-7 in shots, 8-3 in shots on goal, and 5-2 in corner kicks.
Taariq Ganga finished with three saves in goal for the Bruins to notch his third shutout of the year. Charlie Clark finished with six saves in the loss for the Jimmies.
Bellevue returns home to Papillion Landing on Wednesday, Oct. 9, where they entertain No. 15 Columbia (Mo.) College for a 4:30 p.m. match.
