Schwanke collects Defensive POTW award following season-ending win

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University freshman Caedmon Schwanke (Lincoln, Neb.) earned Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors, as announced by the CAC office on Monday.

Schwanke helped the Bruni defense post its sixth-straight shutout and 10th overall clean sheet. The team has not allowed a goal in the last 614:05 of game action, a program record, dating back to Sept. 26.

The award is the second of the season for Schwanke, who also collected the honor on Sept. 25. Schwanke scored the game-winning goal as BU went on the road to Judson, and assisted on the second tally, as the Bruins collected a 3-0 victory. The goal was his second game-winner of the season, tying him for the team lead, as he now has four goals, five assists, and 13 total points on the year.

Bellevue concluded the regular-season 11-5-2 and next compete in the CAC Tournament in Lawrenceville, Ga. from Nov. 9-11 with the winner earning an automatic bid to the National Tournament.
