BU scores three early goals in 3-0 shutout at Judson

ELGIN, Ill. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team scored three goals in the first 19 minutes of the game as the Bruins recorded their sixth straight shutout in a 3-0 win at Judson University Saturday afternoon at Dawson Field.  

With the win, the Bruins improved to 11-5-2 on the season. Judson dropped to 7-8-2 overall. 

Bellevue has not given up a goal since Sept. 26 in a 1-0 loss at No. 14 Columbia. The Bruins have outscored their opponents 27-0 over the last six contests. 

Caedmon Schwanke scored three minutes into the contest on a shot near the top of the box, finding the upper left corner of the net. The assist was credited to Aphelele Nzwanga

Seven minutes later, following a corner kick, Schwanke's header pass to Antonio Capra made it 2-0.

Capra, scored unassisted at the 19-minute mark to complete the game's scoring.  

Taariq Ganga made one save while picking up his 10th victory in 2023. The shutout was his eighth of the year, the team's 10th, and he has not allowed a goal in his last 540:27 minutes of action. 

Mateo Ojesto made five saves and was tagged with the loss. Bellevue out-shot Judson 15-3 and 8-1 on goal while also registering a 5-1 margin in corner kicks.  

The Bruins will next compete in the Continental Athletic Conference Tournament on Nov. 9-11 in Lawrenceville, Ga. Times and pairings will be announced next week.
