LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University sophomore Fletcher Hedge (Beccles, England) has been named the Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the CAC league office on Monday.
Hedge helped the Bruins to a 7-0 victory over Hannibal-LaGrange University on Saturday. He scored on a free kick and helped keep a shutout. Earlier in the week, he helped limit 14th-ranked Columbia to just 12 total shots in a narrow defeat.
On the season, Hedge now has four goals and an assist for nine points. He is part of a center back trio which has helped the Bruins post five shutouts and a 1.08 goals against average on the year.
Bellevue next plays at Missouri Baptist University on Wednesday afternoon.
