FOREST CITY, Iowa -- Oumar Sissoko scored a pair of second half goals to power the No. 10-ranked Bellevue University men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Waldorf University on Wednesday evening at Bolstorff Field.

Records:

#10 Bellevue: 10-2-2
Waldorf: 4-4-2

Bruins 3, Waldorf 0

Oumar Sissoko had the first great scoring chance for BU in the 14th minute but his bicycle kick rang off the crossbar and the game remained scoreless.

Bellevue broke through in the 25th minute. Alex Cuenca sent in a cross from the sideline in front of the Bruin bench to the center of the box for Antonio Capra to head in for the first goal. The goal, initially ruled offside, eventually stood after a discussion between the referee and the linesman determined that Capra did not come from an offside position to score.

The Bruins continued to apply pressure throughout the remainder of the half, racking up 11 shots, but were unable to find a second goal. Instead, BU took a 1-0 lead into the break. They limited Waldorf to just a pair of non-threatening shots and out-shot the Warriors 7-0 on goal.

Just shy of the hour-mark, Bellevue added a second goal on the counter-attack. Sissoko won a challenge by midfield and raced into the Waldorf 18-yard box where he ran onto the bouncing ball and hit a volley, while jumping, into the goal.

Sissoko notched his second goal of the game five minutes later when he played the Waldorf offside line perfectly to get in behind the defense on a long pass from the back. After he had his initial shot saved, he made a move on the keeper and worked into a position that afforded him an empty net for a 3-0 lead.

Bellevue saw the game out from there, finishing with advantages of 18-8 in shots, 9-3 in shots on goal, and 6-4 in corner kicks.

AJ Jarvis totaled three saves for his fifth-straight clean sheet and Bellevue's sixth of the year.

Coach Mark Heath-Preston:

"A windy, cold night in Forest City is always a difficult place to play, so getting the result we did was fantastice. Big game vs. the Jimmies on Saturday, we we now need to rest and prepare for that."

Man of the Match:

Oumar Sissoko - Two goals giving him five in his last two games and 12 on the season to lead the team.
