LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Bellevue University senior Gabriel Gaiotto (Piracicaba, Brazil) has been named the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the CAC office on Monday.
Gaiotto scored the game-winning goal on his only shot in 2-0 victory last week against Midland University. It was his first goal of the season. Defensively, the fullback, helped anchor a defensive effort which yielded just five shots, with none of them coming on goal.
The weekly award is the first such honor of Gaiotto's Bruin career. It is the second time the CAC has recognized Gaiotto, as he was an A.I.I. Academic All-Conference selection in 2020.
Bellevue (8-2-1), ranked No. 11 nationally, hosts #5 Columbia College (7-1-0) tomorrow for a 5 p.m. kickoff at Papillion Landing.
