Sissoko heads BU past Bulldogs

PAPILLION, Neb. -- Toby Millward and Oumar Sissoko each scored to lift the No. 10 Bellevue University men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Concordia University on Wednesday night at Papillion Landing.

Toby Millward put Bellevue on the board just past the 10-minute mark. After the Bruins won a free kick, Millward hit a curling shot over the wall and into the near side of the goal.

Concordia answered under four and a half minutes later when they were awarded a penalty after the attacker took a cleat to the face. David Moreno stepped to the spot and rifled his under the crossbar and in.

The score remained level into the half with BU holding a 14-7 edge in shots.

The tie was broken in the 73rd minute when Anthony Cox sent a cross from the nearside touchline into the box that Oumar Sissoko flicked inside the back post with his head for a 2-1 Bruins lead.

Bellevue saw the game out from there, finishing by out-shooting CUNE 21-13 on the evening, including by a 6-3 margin on goal. AJ Jarvis made a pair of saves in the win.

Federico Simonetti finished with four saves for the Bulldogs.
