PAPILLION, Neb. -- Antonio Capra headed in the game-winner with under 90 seconds to play to give the eighth-ranked Bellevue University men's soccer team a 2-1 double overtime victory over No. 24 McPherson College on Saturday evening.

Records:

#8 Bellevue: 5-1-1
#24 McPherson: 3-2-0

Bruins 2, McPherson 1

Antonio Capra was waiting at the back post to head home Alex Cuenca's cross with less than 90 seconds to play in the second overtime to send Bellevue home 2-1 winners.

Gabby Gaiotto started the sequence by sending in a cross from just outside the 18 that a McPherson defender headed away, but to the feet of Cuenca at the top of the box. Cuenca dribbled around the defense and a cross just inside the six-yard box for Capra to run onto and head home to secure the victory.

Nhlakanipho Methula wasted no time putting McPherson a goal up, scoring in the game's second minute. Methula ripped a shot from 25 yards that redirected off a Bellevue defender to the other side of the goal and in.

The Bruins pressed forward looking for an answer and found one shortly just under the 10-minute mark of the first half. Bellevue won a free kick that Toby Millward played back to Anthony Cox who, in turn, tried his luck for distance. His shot beat the keeper and short-hopped into the back of the net to pull BU level at 1-1.

Each team had one real chance in the second half with Oumar Sissoko having his headed effort saved in the 53rd minute and Daniel Connell hitting the cross bar in the 66th minute for McPherson.

Bellevue totaled 24 shots to McPherson's eight but struggled putting just five on frame.

AJ Jarvis recorded one save in the win for Bellevue and Colby Swift finished with three stops in the loss.
