LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Oumar Sissoko (Bamako, Mali) and Alvaro Capra (Santiago, Chile) took home the initial 2021 Continental Athletic Conference Player of the Week Awards, as announced by the CAC office on Monday.
Sissoko earned CAC Offensive Player of the Week honors following a strong start to the season atop the Bruin formation. Through three games, he has totaled three goals and an assist, including the game-winning strike against Dakota Wesleyan. Most recently, Sissoko scored twice in the Bruins' 7-1 win over Benedictine bagging the first and third goals of the contest.
Capra claimed CAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after helping the BU defensive unit limit its opposition to just 3.3 shots on goal and a 0.93 goals against average. Bellevue has not allowed a goal from the run of play with Capra on the field. Additionally, he has scored a goal at Dakota Wesleyan and assisted the game-tying strike in the season-opener against Grand View.
Bellevue (2-0-1) travels to Oskaloosa, Iowa on Wednesday where they will meet William Penn University for a 6 p.m. kick-off.
