BATESVILLE, Ark. -- The Bellevue University men's soccer team scored twice off set pieces in the second half to rally for a 2-1 win over Lyon College on Saturday evening.

Toby Millward converted his sixth PK of the season in the 67th minute to bring BU back on terms and Marvin Ramirez scored his first goal of the campaign in the 89th minute to deliver the victory.

The Bruins, playing in their first game since Nov. 11, improved to 9-4-0 with the victory, their fifth-straight dating back to mid-October. Lyon, playing in their third game this month, falls to 1-1-1.

Lyon out-shot BU 5-3 in the opening half and held a 4-2 edge in corners but neither side was able to break through and the game advanced to halftime scoreless.

The host Scots broke through in the 54th minute when Marcos Fernandez scored off a pass from Leo Galdino for a 1-0 lead.

The score remained 1-0 until BU won a penalty at about the midway point of the second half and Millward found the back of the net for the 11th time this season.

With the game seemingly destined for overtime, Bellevue won a late free kick opportunity in the Scots' end. Millward sent in the set piece that Inaki Aldao headed across the top of the box to Ramirez who tucked the game-winner inside the far post.

AJ Jarvis, making his season debut, registered five saves in goal for the Bruins. Dan Huff totaled four saves for Lyon.

Lyon finished with a 16-9 advantage in shots but attempts on frame finished level at six apiece.

Man of the Match:

Marvin Ramirez

Coach Mark Heath-Preston:

"Lyon was a really good team and after missing some early chances they looked like getting into the game. We changed half way through the second half and we were able to create more chances. Marvin made the difference when he came on; he competed really well and deserved the winner."
