LIMA, Ohio -- For the second time in three days the #17 Bellevue University men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision against a nationally ranked team, today falling to #5 Davenport to close out the UNOH Racer Classic.

The Bruins dip to 1-4-1 while Davenport improves to 2-1-0 with the victory.

Davenport raced ahead to a two goal halftime lead. TJ Ifaturoti and Lasse Pico Kjeldsen both scored unassisted goals in the opening 45 minutes. Ifaturoti put the Panthers ahead 1-0 and the 27th minute before Pico Kjeldsen doubled the advantage to 2-0 in the 36th minute.

Davenport took that 2-0 lead into half after out-shooting Bellevue 13-2 and picking up nine corners to the Bruins' zero.

Bellevue pulled within a goal in the 55th minute courtesy of a goal from Finlay Bloodworth. Scott Robson was credited with the assist on Bloodworth's first career goal in a Bruin uniform.

For the match Davenport out-shot BU 19-4 (10-2 on goal) and won 13 corners to Bellevue's two. The rather physical affair saw Bellevue (14) and Davenport (19) whistled for a combined 33 fouls.

Ben Martin made a season-high eight saves in goal for the Bruins while Lucas Ohlman stopped one of the two chances he faced.

Bellevue wraps up their six-game away swing next weekend with a pair of matches at the McPherson Classic. BU plays John Brown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and host-side McPherson at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
