BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University senior defender Alan Carr was named North Star Athletic Association Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the NSAA earlier today.

Carr scored the game-winning goal in Bellevue's lone match of the week, a 2-0 victory over Concordia (Neb.). He anchored a defensive four which limited the Bulldogs to nine shots (five on goal) as the Bruins picked up their fourth clean sheet of the season.

Carr becomes the third Bruin in as many weeks of voting to be named NSAA Defensive Player of the Week. He joins Jamie Henderson and Ben Martin who earned the awards on Sept. 1 and Sept. 8, respectively.

Through six matches the bruins have conceded a 0.63 goals against average while surrendering just 51 shots (25 on goal) and holding the opposition scoreless on four occasions. The Bruins have allowed just two goals during the course of regular play with the other two coming from the penalty spot.

Ranked No. 14 nationally, Bellevue (4-1-1) plays a pair of matches this week, travelling to Northwestern College for a 5 p.m. kickoff on Wednesday and to Ashford University for a 2 p.m. kickoff on Saturday.
