The University of Nebraska at Omaha women's soccer program, under head coach Don Klosterman, has announced the addition of former Bruin soccer standout Adam Hooi to the staff as an assistant coach.

UNO is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Summit League. The Mavericks recently completed their final transition year to Division I and will be eligible for conference and NCAA post-season competition this fall.

Hooi, who also spent three seasons as an assistant coach for Bellevue's men's and women's soccer programs, was a four-year letterwinner for the Bruins, earning all-conference honors in 2008, while being named the 2008-09 Bellevue University Male Athlete of the Year.

He has served for two seasons as the head boys' soccer coach at Elkhorn South High School. Additionally, Hooi has been an academy director and coach for the Elkhorn Soccer Club since 2009.

Hooi helped lead the Bruins to both the conference regular season and tournament titles in 2008 and to the program's first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Tournament, where BU fell to eventual national champion Bethel (Tenn.) University in the opening round.

After his collegiate career, Hooi played in the Premier Development League (PDL) for both the Des Moines Menace and the El Paso Patriots.

A graduate of Omaha Burke High School, Hooi earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from Bellevue University in 2009.
